Offering improved handling control along with more versatile power options, the HLD-6 Power Battery Holder from Olympus is a dedicated auxiliary grip for the OM-D E-M5 mirrorless camera. This grip's unique design separates into two parts: one for shooting in the horizontal orientation, and one for the vertical orientation. When shooting horizontally, the grip's size can be minimized to simply include a secondary shutter release button and larger grip for more comfortable handheld shooting.

With both pieces together, the grip is ideal for use when shooting vertically, and features an additional shutter release for easier access as well as a pair of assignable function buttons for adjusting camera settings. This grip also has a DC-IN jack for continuous power via the optional AC-3 Power Adapter, and it can also accept a second BLN-1 lithium-ion battery to effectively double to battery life of the camera. When shooting with the second battery, you can configure which battery to use first, and the camera will automatically switch between the two for uninterrupted shooting.
